The Sanctuary Of Truth

After leaving Chiang Mai it was a trip down south for the relaxing portion of the trip and a week and a half in Pattaya. Although I do love Phuket, the ease of Pattaya (and the price) won me over, especially as it’s a lot easier to arrange a photoshoot there.

Although the main aim of this part of the trip was to relax (read that as lots of beer and food!) there was one attraction I was determined to see – and that was The Sanctuary of Truth.

The Sanctuary of Truth is a museum (still being built) to the north of the city. The entire building is an art project, made entirely out of carved wood. They started building it in 1981 (the year of my birth) and work is still ongoing. Although I’d seen some photos on visits before (hence my interest) I really wasn’t prepared for just how spectacular it was. I couldn’t recommend it enough – yes, it’s a bit touristy, but what a place. I’m so glad I finally made it there. Walking around was surprisingly quite emotional, perhaps because we had a guide who was very open about the challenges she’d experienced in life after losing her parents. It certainly gave me a lot to think about.

For the rest of my time I shot a bit of film on the street and had a go at a few sunsets. I also shot with the most wonderful model – Niki Meow … but that story will come next!

For now, here’s the photos from the Pattaya leg of my trip (you can also see the vlog here).
