Apart from the chance to re-visit Chiang Mai, the second reason for arranging this part of the trip was to finally take the opportunity to meet Jantira (Ya) from ‘Boudoir by Ya‘ … someone who I’d spoken with for many years over a mutual love of photography. After a few years abroad Ya had moved back home near to the city and had just started a small business called ‘The Nowhere Art Cafe‘. A small coffee shop which also doubled as a studio for photographers and artists and latterly (since my return home) as a beautiful Air BnB in a relaxing rural enviornment.
I’d told Ya that when I visited I hoped we could do a small shoot together. Ya runs many photography tours and workshops and she was just the right person to take all the effort away from me needing to organise something. Ya reached out to a local model, Onpreeya, and all was set from there!
On the morning of the shoot Ya picked me up from my hotel and we headed out to the cafe where Onpreeya met up with us. We began with some simple fashion and lifestyle portraits, moving into nude, followed by a little edgy kink – a bit of a variety! It was though super fun and such a great experience to get to finally hang out with Ya. I know I linked it in the last post, but I’ll do so again here – I vlogged a bit of this and you can check that out on my You Tube channel!
Onpreeya was a great model and nothing phased her. If you’re heading to Chiang Mai and want someone to shoot with then I’d highly recommend her. She was so easy going and relaxed. Of course, if you need someone to help arrange a photography trip for you then look no further than reaching out to Ya – she’s so brilliant at what she does and a really talented artist.
I hope our paths will cross again some day.
