So here we were; 6 months on since I was last in Thailand and I found myself back in Bangkok for the start of yet another holiday in the land of smiles. First order of the day? Get shooting with Niki again!
I think after the disaster of the last trip with the camera breaking that I was determined to enjoy a proper shoot with her where I wouldn’t feel quite so amateurish. Although I was stunned by what we achieved previously, there really is only so much you can do with a mobile phone and a roll and half of film.
For the location I’d again booked the same hotel that I’d shot in the previous year with Fernie. Although it can sometimes be a challenge using the same location, I felt with Niki we had enough creativity between us that we’d still come up with something original and unique to what I’d shot there before.
As before we looked to shoot a variety of different sets, this time two different types of lingerie and then an art nude set. Niki is such a dream to work with and she intuitively knows exactly what I’m looking for every time I bring the camera to my eye.
You’ll have to let me know what you think, but my personal feelings are that we got better and better as the afternoon went on and produced one of the best shoots I’ve done.
After we were done we headed to a local restaurant for some Thai food followed up by a couple of drinks listening to some music at a bar on Soi 11. Actually, a pretty perfect day.
Niki continues to be a model I recommend most highly. She’s professional, funny, kind and hard working. If you’re heading to Thailand to shoot then put her at the very top of your list. Although I’m far behind in my posts (which is why you’re only seeing this now), I did so again in June ’24 and I hope very much to see her again later this year.
