Almost exactly 12 months on from the previous shoot and I was back in Bangkok again with another session lined up with Niki. 2023’s photoshoot was one of my favourites of the year and I was so pleased with what we had created. I couldn’t wait for another opportunity to work with her again.
Following a similar pattern to before, we’d arranged to shoot at my hotel on Soi 11. I’d originally hoped we might do a swimwear set on the hotel rooftop as it had a good pool, but Niki wasn’t quite feeling it so we ended up staying in the room and going with a couple of different lingerie sets. The hotel I was staying at was the same I’d used when photographing Eve on the previous trip and although I knew it’d be a decent size space, the light had potential to be rather tricky and I’d also need to avoid taking exactly the same pictures that I had a few months previously! We love a challenge!
Seeing Niki again was fantastic and she was in great spirits with lots of laughs throughout. She’s always thoroughly professional with it and comes well prepared with several different looks. She really makes my life easy as I all I have to do is throw her an idea of a composition and then she does the rest naturally, flowing from pose to pose. This was our third shoot since meeting at the end of 2022 (we’ve now done four at the time of writing!) and she’s really a great person to know – an inspirational person.
Of the sets we shot, I think my favourite was the second creamy white lingerie … but hey, let me know which you like best!
After we were done we headed over the road for some Thai food at a local restaurant and to relax for a bit – a tradition between us and it’s lovely to have an opportunity to properly unwind and catch up with each other without the camera between us.
Niki has got to have become one of the most popular models in Thailand (let alone Bangkok) and if you’re reading this, I’m sure you’ll know all about her already. Needless to say, if you’re a creative and you have the chance please do work with her whilst you can – you won’t regret it!
